Firstline of Defence is a professional consulting firm that specializes in and offers Personal Safety Programs. The mission of Firstline of Defence is to design programs that offer safety and awareness to the public sector.

Firstline of Defence offers programs that have been specifically developed for Security Companies. These programs offer the Provincially Mandated training to security officers. Please see security courses for details.

Firstline of Defence also offers other programs such as conflict management, basic self-defence, and safety-awareness to all members of the community. Programs like basic self-defence are specifically designed and are offered to women who are looking to increase their own awareness and personal safety. Other programs like conflict management are designed for specifically for companies that are looking to educate employees on de-escalating situations and increase personal safety and awareness in the workplace. Meet Our Team:

Director and Instructor: Tony Altomare - Retired after 28 years with the Metropolitan Toronto Police Service. Tony spent 10 years as a police training instructor at the C.O. Bick College (Toronto Police College) and the Ontario Police College in Aylmer. He has trained more than 20,000 police officers, from raw recruits to senior officers. He is currently an instructor at Centennial College’s Police Foundations course. Tony is also an accredited use of force instructor with the Province of Ontario and a certified baton instructor. He has contributed to the creation and development of training standards, lesson plans and student manuals.

Self Defence Instructor: Terry Watson - Terry Watson began his martial arts career in 1970 attaining the status of Black Belt in Ki Shin Japanese Karate in 1973. Terry has studied extensively in Judo-Chi Da Ru and Ki Shin Karate. In 1990 he joined the art of Kuk Sool and was promoted to head instructor for the Korean Martial Arts Centre in 1999. Terry is currently a certified black belt and instructor in Kuk Sool and Hap Ki Do and was awarded instructor of the year for the World Dahn Moo Do Association and the United Korean Martial Arts Alliance in 2003. Terry has been giving seminars and workshops in street proofing and the use of force since 1975.

   
Instructor- First Aid/CPR & Smart Serve - Kate David - Has served in a managerial position for a security company for several years. Kate is a certified First Aid/CPR instructor through the Canadian Red Cross. She is provincially recognized as a Smart Serve Facilitator. Kate is our course instructor for Child Safe & Babysitting courses.
